Rocky River City Schools

The Blue ribbon School system is made up of Goldwood elementary housing grades k-2, Kensington Intermediate housing 3rd-5th, Rocky River Middle School with grade 6-8 and the High School with 9-12.

Rocky River has various recreation programs for all ages. The recently renovated Recreation center facility houses basketball courts, an indoor track and a well-appointed work out area and an indoor pool. A separate buildings offer an ice rink that converts to an indoor soccer facility, meeting rooms and a wonderful senior center

Parks and Recreation

Rocky River has numerous recreation programs for all ages. The recently renovated Recreation center facility houses basketball courts, an indoor track and a well-appointed work out area and an indoor pool. A separate buildings offer an ice rink that converts to an indoor soccer facility, meeting rooms and a wonderful senior center. There is a playground near the Rec. Center called “Elle’s enchanted forest” that features many different types of adapted equipment to allow children with disabilities to enjoy the playground as well.

Elmwood Park, features a cabin with full kitchen that can be rented out by residents and a playground

Wagar Beach and Oak beach are private lakefront beaches for residents of Beachcliff I or II

Linden Park, offers basketball courts, tennis courts a playground, sledding hill and several soccer fields

Tri-City, located in western Rocky River has tennis courts, a playground and soccer fields

Boating and Lake Access Metro Parks Emerald necklace and CYC-Freedom Boat

Rocky River sits right along Lake Erie and offers incredible boating access, there are several options ranging from a public boat launch via the Emerald necklace marina, private access via The Cleveland Yacht club and we even have the Freedom Boat Club where members have access to an array of boating options.Kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding are all common activities here as well.

Golf

For the avid golfer Westwood Country Club calls Rocky River home with its award winning course and there are also public options not too far away in the Cleveland Metroparks , Big Met and Little Met.

Neighborhoods

Beachcliff I and II- these are the more historic neighborhoods with most homes being built in the early 1900’s, the architecture is lovely, the proximity to Lake Erie and center of town also makes these neighborhoods some of the most desirable.

Library area-this neighborhood is mostly made up of single family homes built in the 1930, 40 and 50’s Here you also enjoy great walkability to shops and restaurants and the library and Middle School.

Valley- this neighborhood has many homes that overlook the Metro parks Valley, and the Rocky River. There is a mixture of older homes and homes constructed in the 50’s and 60’s

Christensen/West River neighborhoods are located on the Western end of Rocky River and are made up of homes built in the 70’s and 80’s in these areas you can usually find larger homes with bigger lots and features like attached garages and family rooms.
