Bay Village is a quaint lakefront community that was first built up as a cottage town. Currently, there are approximately 15,000 residents and a variety of home sizes and styles. In 2012, Family Circle Magazine ranked Bay Village as one of the 10 Best Towns for Families. Bay Village is also the home to the Cleveland Metroparks Huntington Reservation. Huntington Beach is located on the shores of Lake Erie, where visitors can picnic, fish, and enjoy the beach. This park area also houses the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, the Huntington Playhouse, BAYarts Vento Tratoria.
Joseph Cahoon founded Bay Village in 1810. In 1917, the last Cahoon descendant died leaving the family home and 115 acres of land to the City. The home is now the Rose Hill Museum and the land is Cahoon Memorial Park.
The combination of these two park lands located in the center of town provide residents with an abundance of recreational opportunities year round and give Bay Village a truly unique quality of life.
Bay Village has an assortment of recreational amenities including "Play in Bay" a state of the art playground, ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and a fantastic outdoor pool .
